Designed for racing sailboats, the gWind Race features a 3.3-foot (1 meter) straight pole that raises the transducer above the mast to minimize turbulence errors. It uses twin-fin technology and a 3-bladed propeller for more accurate True Wind Speed (TWS) in lighter air, while the twin-fin design delivers more stable True Wind Angle (TWA). Unlike a cups design, the 3-bladed propeller remains efficient at all times.
Combined with optic reading, this transducer provides excellent accuracy at low wind speeds and ensures superior linearity. It connects with Garmin’s lightest cable and includes the GND 10 black box bridge, which enables communication between the Nexus Network and Garmin-compatible chartplotters for sharing critical NMEA 2000 data. Installation is simple with plug-and-play setup between Nexus, Garmin chartplotters, and NMEA 2000.
